Ohio lawmakers strike 3 a.m. deal4 June 2010COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A deal has been agreed between Ohio house and Senate lawmakers for new rules on casino regulation, The Plain Dealer reported. The negotiations were previously stalled and missed a "constitutional deadline", however they managed to sneak an agreement in the wee hours of the morning, The Plain Dealer said. A major sticking point was the demand for a "work force diversity program", but this was not included in the final legislation, the report noted. This agreement will mean a new casino for Cleveland and much needed jobs, The Plain Dealer report said. |
