Ohio group pushes for casino

OHIO -- As reported by the Chillicothe Gazette: "Ross County's annual budget could receive a boost of more than $1 million if a casino were located in Ohio, casino supporter Jodi Black, of MyOhioNow.com, told commissioners Monday.

"The group is hoping to place a measure that would allow for one privately owned company to operate a casino in Clinton County on the November ballot. The amendment would require 10 percent of taxes collected go to Clinton County, and the remaining 90 percent distributed among all 88 counties based on population.

"Using 2007 revenue figures from the Argosy Casino in Indiana and a 30 percent gross income tax, MyOhioNow.comestimates $200 million in revenue for county governments, with $1.3 million for Ross County..."
