Ohio governor signs skills-bases machine bill26 October 2007OHIO -- As reported by the Columbus Business First: "Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland has signed a bill into law that cracks down on skill-based games at the heart of a tug of war between state officials and gambling proponents. "Strickland Thursday morning signed House Bill 177, which prohibits skill-based amusement machines that offer payouts or prizes worth more than $10. "The legislation, effective immediately, comes about two months after Attorney General Marc Dann and Strickland worked to create an executive order that tightened the language of state law that defines what is and isn't a skill-based game..." |
