Ohio enjoys casino success

OHIO – As reported by the Star Beacon: "Ashtabula County is hoping the early success of a new Erie casino provides a big boost for the area's tourism trade.

"Presque Isle Downs and Casino opened it's doors earlier this month and literally hit the jackpot, attracting thousands of gamblers. It's too early to tell, but local tourism officials are hoping the county can enjoy some of the windfall.

"…Initial reports are encouraging. Kimberly Thomas, of Kay's Place Restaurant in Kingsville Township, said recently she is working with tour bus companies that book excursions to the casino. There's a chance the family restaurant, at the Interstate 90/Route 193 interchange, could become a scheduled stop for Presque Isle buses, she said.
