Officials decide on slots interests4 December 2007NIAGARA FALLS, New York -- As reported by the Buffalo News: "A small pot of money with no strings attached has sparked a new concern this year for leaders in a city that is just beginning to pull itself out of the financial doldrums. "How should elected officials distribute interest the city earns on slot machine revenue it receives from the Seneca Niagara Casino? "Mayor Vince Anello and the City Council agreed in the spring that they needed a policy to determine how the money should be spent, but guidelines were never put in place. Now they're hoping to draft a policy within the next few months. "...A request granted Monday by the Council to give $20,000 of the casino interest to the Niagara Falls Wrestling Club to purchase two new wrestling mats sparked discussion about how the money should be spent..." |
