29 February 2008

TWENTYNINE PALMS, California -- As reported by the Desert Trail: "An initial draft of the Environmental Assessment report on a proposed casino and RV park development should be released to the public around Monday, March 10, said Rod Wilson, a spokesman for the Twentynine Palms Band of Mission Indians.

"Tribe members, who operate a casino on tribal land in Indio, are making plans to open a casino and RV park on 160 acres of land the tribe owns south of Baseline Road and east of Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.

"Plans call for 350 slot machines, along with table games from black jack to Texas Hold 'Em, a bingo hall, two restaurants and a sports bar.

"...In the meantime, the tribe has chosen MSA Engineering of Rancho Mirage to head up infrastructure work on the undeveloped land which will eventually host the casino and RV park..."
