NSW Pubs, Clubs Can Add Pokies

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australia News.com: "Pubs and clubs in New South Wales can now install 10 extra poker machines without undertaking an exhaustive social impact assessment.

"In the past, they could apply to install just four extra poker machines in a three-year period without having to undergo a Class 2 Social Impact Assessment, which examines the surrounding area's wages and employment levels.

"Following changes to the state's gaming machine regulations, pubs and clubs can now apply for 10 extra machines - providing they do not exceed the maximum of 30 for hotels and 450 for clubs - without having to face a class 2 SIA…"
