November slot revenue at Foxwoods declines

14 December 2012

MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Slot revenues for the month of November at Foxwoods Resort Casino remained virtually unchanged from the previous month, but at $42.9 million the revenues were 10.2 percent lower than the same period a year ago. The Casino’s handle for November this year was $521.0 million, a decline of 8.4 percent from November 2011. The Super Storm-weakened regional economy adversely impacted results.

The November 2012 contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund was $11.2 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state of Connecticut since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to $3.43 billion.

The holiday season gets off to a festive start tonight as Mannheim Steamroller performs its signature Christmas concert at the MGM Grand Theater. Sunday (16th), the Resort holds its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and plays host to Santa Claus, who will sit for photos with the kids from 11 am to 3 pm. The holiday fun continues with live appearances by Kenny Rogers (21st), the Backstreet Boys (28th) and Harry Connick, Jr. (29th). There’s also a full line up of comedy beginning with Lisa Lampanelli on the 15th and featuring the COMIX Christmas Show on Christmas night.

“Victory: An Exhibition Celebrating Boston Sports” continues in the Great Cedar Exhibition Hall. At the Pequot Museum, Christmas is the theme with the Tree of Nations in the Gathering Space all month plus holiday ornament-making programs on the 15th and 22nd.
