Nova Scotia to Remove 1,000 VLTs6 April 2005HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – As reported by the Canadian Press: "Nova Scotia will be eliminating 1,000 video lottery terminals, about one-third of the total in the province, Premier John Hamm said Wednesday. Hamm said 800 of the machines will be gone by Nov. 1, and another 200 that are out of service or due to be retired won't be replaced. There are currently 3,200 VLTs in bars, restaurants and legions. The changes are part of the province's first gaming strategy. …Legions and other not-for-profit establishments will be able to keep their machines.
