Nova Scotia to proceed with online gambling despite Newfoundland rejection

23 August 2010

NOVA SCOTIA, Canada -- Even if its partners in the Atlantic Lottery Corp. do not embrace Internet gambling, Nova Scotia may go solo on the matter, The Chronicle Herald reported.

The Finance Minister Graham Steele said it is not necessary for all four partners to agree on products offered, The Chronicle Herald said.

Last week the Newfoundland Premier stated he would vote against internet gambling in his province.

Steele cited the introduction of online gambling as part of a new gaming strategy being developed, The Chronicle Herald reported.
