Norwegian player wins 3.1 million euro jackpot on Mega Fortune

25 March 2015

(PRESS RELEASE) -- NetEnt, the leading digital entertainment company, providing online gaming solutions to the world’s most successful casino operators, has announced a 3.1 MEUR pooled jackpot has fallen on Mega Fortune playing at NorskeAutomater.

Mega Fortune is part of NetEnt’s global jackpot network, where the liquidity from many of the largest European online casinos is pooled. Mega Fortune has made millionaires across Europe since 2008 when it was commercially released to the general market.

It currently holds the Guinness World Record for the largest ever jackpot payout from an online slot machine of 17.9 MEUR from January 2013.

Another of NetEnt’s online pooled jackpots is the hugely popular Hall of Gods which currently has a jackpot of over 5.9 MEUR.

Norwegian winner, comments: “I'm not superstitious, but Friday 13th was a strange day. I accidently deposited 1000 EUR instead of 1000 Norwegian kroner. I tried to stop the transaction, but it was too late, so perhaps it was destiny!”

Simon Hammon, Chief Product Officer of NetEnt, comments: “We’re only three months into the year and there have been two significant pooled jackpots drop. The life-changing sums on offer act as a perfect way to boost acquisition rates and retention levels for operators”.
