Northwest Indiana Casino Numbers Down

INDIANA – As reported by the Northwest Indiana News: "December turned chilly aboard Lake Michigan riverboats, with fewer gamblers dropping fewer dollars.

"Combined revenues for the five casinos fell to $94.7 million for the month, a drop of 3 percent from November, and down 7 percent from December 2004.

"Close to 1,066,000 gamblers passed through turnstiles of the five casinos, down from 1,090,000 in November and a drop of 7 percent from 1,146,000 the previous December.

"Even the one extra Saturday the calendar provided in December 2005 wasn't enough to boost revenues.

"…Combined revenues for the five Northwest Indiana casinos have seen a steady decline since mid-2005, a possible sign growth has peaked.

"…The five Northwest Indiana casinos took in a total $1.2 billion in 2005, a gain of just 1.1 percent over 2004…"
