Northern Marianas Island casino fined for money-laundering violations5 June 2015NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS -- The Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino has been fined $75 million for anti-money-laundering violations, Nasdaq reported. The US government imposed the fine for violations since 2008, the report said. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN imposed the fine on the casino for having no safeguards in place to detect money-laundering amongst other issues, Nasdaq said. FinCEN is clamping down on casinos and any inaction on money-laundering safeguards, the report noted. |
