Northern Ireland to get Sunday On-Course Betting

UK – As reported by the UTV: "Sunday on-course betting is to be introduced in Northern Ireland, bringing the province more into line with mainland Britain, the Lords decided last night.

"The change is part of the Betting and Gaming (Northern Ireland) Order.

"…Lord Glentoran, for Tories, said: `Gambling has always been an integral part of Irish life for many centuries.` But he noted it had also caused considerable social hardship…"
