Nooksack Northwood Casino to open its doors again on 1 June

26 May 2020

Nooksack Northwood Casino is going to be reopening on 1 June. There are several health and safety protocols being implemented at the Washington casino and they are listed below.

  • If you’re sick, please stay home. We’ll look forward to your visit after you feel better.
  • While the entire parking lot is open, all guests must use the west entrance to the casino (entrance closest to the Gift Store)
  • We will take the temperature of everyone who comes into the casino. If you have a temperature of 100 degrees or above, we’ll ask you to come back and visit the casino when your temperature is in a normal range.
  • To allow for sufficient time for cleaning and sanitization, the casino will initially reopen with reduced operating hours. We will be open from 9am to 12am Sunday through Thursday, and 9am to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
In The Casino
  • Cleaning and sanitizing will be continuous in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces.
  • Northwood is the only casino in the area to ensure physical separation by installing Plexiglass between every slot machine.
  • Table games will have limited games open with plexiglass dividers between chairs.
  • Employees and guests will be required to wear masks while on property. Guests who do not have a mask will be provided a disposable mask. The CDC advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus, by preventing people who do not know they have the virus from transmitting it to others.
  • Initially, smoking will only be allowed in designated areas outside of the casino. The 100% no-smoking policy will remain in place until further notice.
  • The frequency of air filter replacement and HVAC system cleaning has been increased and fresh air exchange maximized. All filters have been replaced with HEPA filters.
  • Physical distancing guides have been placed on the floor in areas where lines would normally form.
  • Chefs restaurant will be available for food. The Prime Buffet and Thirst Bar will remain closed for the time being.
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers are available to guests throughout the property. Guests are encouraged to use them frequently.
  • Northwood Casino has hired a qualified nurse to provide professional training and monitor staff to ensure we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our guests and employees safe and healthy.
  • All employees will receive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols before returning to work, and all employees will be tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to work.
  • We’ll have signs throughout the casino reminding our guests to wash hands frequently, cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching their eyes and face, and to make sure they are staying at least 6 feet apart from others.
