No Action Taken Against Judge's Casino Violation

MONTANA -- As reported by the Missoulian: "Ravalli County District Judge Jeffrey Langton will face no consequences for entering a casino in violation of a suspended sentence he received for driving under the influence of alcohol in February 2005.

"Robert L. Deschamps III, a special prosecutor in Langton's case, said he'd been notified by letter from Hamilton City Judge Patricia Sanders that she intended to take no action against Langton. Deschamps also plans to take no further action against Langton, who was arrested for driving drunk in Hamilton.

"Deschamps filed a report in Sanders' court a few weeks ago alleging that Langton had entered the casino at the Ole's located at the Stevensville Wye on Nov. 15. When Sanders sentenced Langton to a 10-day suspended jail sentence last September, she ordered him to steer clear of alcohol and stay out of casinos…"
