NJ Commission Relicenses Caesars Entertainment's Three Atlantic City Resorts

13 May 2004

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The New Jersey Casino Control Commission, acting on the recommendation of the state Division of Gaming Enforcement, today unanimously renewed the casino licenses for Caesars Entertainment's three Atlantic City resorts - the Atlantic City Hilton, Bally's Atlantic City and Caesars Atlantic City.

Testimony on behalf of Caesars Entertainment was presented by President and Chief Executive Officer Wallace R. Barr, who described the company's commitment to the growth of the Atlantic City market.

Barr said projects such as a new $75 million parking garage and the $140 million renovation of the historic Million Dollar Pier, soon to be known as The Pier at Caesars, will help expand the Atlantic City market by attracting new visitors and encouraging existing customers to visit more frequently. The Pier at Caesars is being developed and financed by an affiliate of Gordon Group Holdings, LLC, of Greenwich, Connecticut.

Caesars Entertainment investments in Atlantic City will continue with suite renovations at the Atlantic City Hilton and various other projects, Barr said. In addition, the company will continue to put Atlantic City on the map as an entertainment destination by sponsoring concerts by stars such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, The Eagles and Cher, along with world-class boxing events with crowd-pleasers such as Arturo Gatti, Evander Holyfield and Floyd Mayweather.

In closing, Barr told commissioners that the company's commitment to the state and the market extends to those who believe they have a problem with gambling. He described the company's industry-leading Responsible Gaming Policy, and explained that thousands of company managers are now being trained to carry out with the new program.
