Nine arrested in Rhode Island gambling bust

SCITUATE, Rhode Island -- As reported by WPRI: " Nine people are under arrest following several raids in five Rhode Island communities. Rhode Island State Police said all of those arrested are charged with organized criminal gambling, narcotics trafficking and firearms violations.

"The nine suspects are due to be arraigned late Tuesday morning in District Court.

"Rhode Island State Police, along with the RI Attorney General's office, said the arrests were the result of raids conducted in Johnston, Cranston, Providence, Cumberland and North Providence.

"However, investigators aren't releasing further details until after the arraignments..."
