NIGA Rules Against Wyandotte 7th Street Casino

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – As reported by the Kansas City Business Journal: "A federal agency has ruled that the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma may not legally operate the Wyandotte 7th Street Casino across the street from City Hall in Kansas City, Kan.

"The National Indian Gaming Commission issued the ruling late Wednesday, Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline said Thursday. The agency said in a 24-page letter that the casino's site, which sits on a parcel of land called the Shriner Tract, fails to meet the definition of tribal land for the purpose of gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act…"
