Niagara Fallsview Casino Opens Wedding Chapel

4 February 2005

NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario – (PRESS RELEASE) -- On February 13, Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will become the first gaming facility in Canada to open its own wedding chapel.

To commemorate the occasion, the resort has arranged for more than 250 of its own employees and their spouses to renew their marriage vows in a mass ceremony before being serenaded by Canadian music legend Paul Anka in the resort's Avalon Ballroom.

"These kinds of casino resort chapels are all the rage right now at the large gaming resorts in Las Vegas," said Larry L. Lewin, President, Niagara Casinos. "Fallsview was designed to offer everything the Vegas properties offer, but we have the advantage of tapping into a long tradition of vacation-style marriages and honeymoons here in Niagara Falls. Even one of the Falls themselves is named the 'Bridal Veil Falls'."

The Chapel is really two small chapels - one seating around 25 people and the other around 50 people - that can be combined for larger groups. Fallsview's Wedding Services team will offer a full array of wedding and vow renewal services, covering flowers, décor, receptions, officials, catering, photography and videography. Wedding Services will also make arrangements for wedding and vow-renewal participants in the resort's many other amenities, including the hotel, the various restaurants and the spa.

The mass vow renewal ceremony will take place at 6pm on Sunday, February 13, in Fallsview's Grand Hall. Members of the media interested in covering the event are asked to arrive at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort between 5pm and 6pm for registration. A raised platform and media feeds will be available for photographers and videographers looking to capture images of the ceremony. Media will also be able to cover the Paul Anka show scheduled to begin at 8:30pm that night.

Those interested in contacting the wedding planning team in The Chapel at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort can do so by calling 1-866-789-VOWS.
