New Zealand Problem Gambling Group Targets District

NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Herald: "The Problem Gambling Foundation wants the Wairoa District Council to restrict the number of pokie machines in the district.

"…Wairoa has 81 pokie machines at seven sites - one machine to each 74 adults, compared with the national average of one for 116 adults.

"The council's policy aims to limit new venues to a maximum of nine pokie machines…"
