New York Senator Wants One Casino Approved17 June 2005NEW YORK – As reported by the Hudson Valley News: "The state Senate is set to adjourn for the summer in four days and Senator William Larkin of Cornwall-on-Hudson, chairman of the Racing and Wagering Committee, would like to see the state approve one casino before then. "Larkin notes that while legislation approved in late 2001 okayed three casinos for the Catskills, the governor most recently proposed one – at Kutsher's – and he thinks one is better than none at this point. "Larkin said concerns about negative impacts may be overblown…" |
