New York Legislation Proposes Gambling on Ferries

NEW YORK – As reported by the WORK 13 TV: "NYS Assemblymen Joseph Morelle (D-Irondequoit) and David Gantt (D-Rochester), and State Senator Joseph Robach (R-Greece) have introduced legislation to allow video lottery terminals on Rochester's fast ferry. They said gambling terminals will only boost tourism here and make the fast ferry more successful.

"…Since the ferry will travel over international waters, there are questions about where the terminals would be allowed to be in use. Reports say that Ontario Province has a moratorium on gambling expansion.

"… Others raise concerns about promoting gambling on the ferry because it can be highly addictive, but Robach doesn't see that as a problem…"
