New York Gambling Program Receives Funding

NEW YORK – As reported by the Buffalo News: "The Gambling Recovery Program of Jewish Family Service of Buffalo and Erie County received a $25,000 boost Wednesday, courtesy of a state grant.

"The program received a 53 percent increase in calls in 2003, corresponding with the opening of the Seneca Niagara Casino and more state lottery play.

"…Assemblyman Jim Hayes, R-Amherst, presented the grant award, which will go toward increasing the program's outreach efforts in Western New York."
