New York Board Asked to Investigate Cayuga Nation17 June 2005SENECA FALLS, New York – As reported by the Finger Lakes Times: "The state Racing and Wagering Board will be the next government agency asked to look into alleged illegal gaming at a Cayuga Indian Nation business. "Richard Ricci, chairman of the Seneca County Indian Land Claim Committee, said he was sending a certified letter making the request Thursday afternoon. He had presented it to the Board of Supervisors during a meeting Tuesday. "It asks Bruce Samboy, bureau chief of Indian Gaming Regulation, to have his office investigate LakeSide Entertainment at Route 89 and Garden Street Extension and to prosecute any violation of the state's prohibition of most forms of gambling. "The letter came about because Ricci said he called the state Racing and Wagering Board as a private citizen to say he was aware of an electronic gaming facility in his community, which he believed was illegal…" |
