New York Bill Would Allow Ferry Gambling

NEW YORK – As reported by the R News: "Finger Lakes Racetrack added video lottery terminals in February. The machines have helped the track draw a new type of customer.

"The operators of the fast ferry want to get in on the action too.

"'VLT's were never contemplated in the financing of the ferry,' says Dominick DeLucia of CATS.

"'However it would be another attraction to bring people over from Toronto. Over 25-thousand people a day go from Toronto to the casino on the Canadian side of the border.'

"…A bill has been drawn up but Assemblyman David Koon says it's not a hot issue in Albany right now.

"…Delaware North, the company that owns Finger Lakes Racetrack, says there's no movement to block VLT's on the ferry..."
