New River City casino deal reached

MISSOURI -- As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal: "Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. said Wednesday that it has a new deal with St. Louis County on its planned River City casino in Lemay.

"Pinnacle has agreed to increase the total investment to $450 million on its complex on the old National Lead site.

"...The new agreement also allows Pinnacle to break the development into two phases, pushing back its plans for a hotel, with at least 100 rooms, by as long as three years.

"The first phase, including the casino, several restaurants and a community center, is slated to open in the first half of 2009, instead of 2008 as once planned.

"Also, as part of the new agreement, Pinnacle is moving up its $5.1 million contribution to the community center and athletic fields..."
