New Mexico backs equine drug penalities4 May 2012NEW MEXICO -- The New Mexico Racing Commission's plans to introduce penalties for equine drugging appear to enjoy strong public backing, ABQ Journal reported. A public meeting was held earlier this week during which the proposal was outlined, the report said. The New Mexico Racing Commission wish to implement a system based on the Association of Racing Commissioners International "model rules", including their system of penalties, the ABQ Journal said. New Mexico has come under scrutiny lately for its horse safety record, the report made note. |
