New Location Proposed by Michigan Casino

WAKEFIELD, Michigan – As reported by the Ironwood Daily Globe: "A resolution supporting a proposed water park-resort and casino operation in the western end of Gogebic County was among development-related matters addressed by the Wakefield City Council Monday.

"In supporting the proposal by the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, the council also learned Wakefield might have a site to offer for the proposed development.

"'Right now, this is just a little feeler,' said city manager John Siira. 'I think we do have some property or, working with Wakefield Township, could present something.'…'
