New Kansas casino set to open today

15 December 2009

DODGE CITY, Kansas -- A new casino in Dodge City is expected to open today following certification by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, according to The Wichita Eagle.

The Boot Hill Casino and Resort is the first state-owned casino to start operations.

The casino will have 584 slot machines, 12 table games, a restaurant, saloon, snack bar and gift shop, according to the Eagle.

Consultants expect the casino to generate between $47 million and $60 million in gambling revenue in 2012 and 2013, the Eagle reports.
