New Jersey sets online gaming permit application deadline

NEW JERSEY -- New Jersey has set a deadline of June 30, 2013 for companies to apply for online gambling licenses, according to a Press of Atlantic City report.

The state needs sufficient time to run background checks on companies before launching internet gambling statewide on November 26, 2013, the report explained.

Online gambling will only be permitted within state borders, but this represents a significant advance for gaming in New Jersey, according to the Press of Atlantic City report.
