New Jersey residents mostly support Gov. on sports betting22 August 2012ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- Gov. Chris Christie has the support of nearly half New Jersey residents on spots betting according to a recent poll, the Press of Atlantic City reported. New Jersey wants to proceed on implementing sports betting at casinos, even though there is currently a federal ban on it, the report said. 45 percent of those polled supported proceeding without federal approval, the Press of Atlantic City said. A referendum on the topic already approved sports betting for New Jersey, but there's currently a lawsuit before the courts filed by NCAA and other sports organizations who oppose it, the report made note.
