New Jersey Investigators Want Casino Licenses Revoked

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "State gaming investigators want an appeals court to revoke the casino licenses that were approved for two brothers whose northern New Jersey construction companies are reputedly linked to organized crime.

"The case involving Frank and Peter DiTommaso, co-owners of Interstate Industrial Corp. and Interstate Drywall Corp. of Clifton, pits the state Casino Control Commission against its investigative arm, the Division of Gaming Enforcement.

"The DGE filed papers Thursday with the state Superior Court Appellate Division in Trenton to overturn the commission's controversial ruling that granted casino licenses to the DiTommaso companies. The division now has 45 days to submit briefs outlining its arguments. The Casino Control Commission will then have 45 days to respond.

"…Casino Control Commission spokesman Daniel Heneghan said it is rare for the DGE to appeal the commission's rulings and even rarer for the courts to overturn them.

"…Lawyers for the DiTommasos strongly denied any mob ties, despite acknowledging that the brothers and their companies had some contact with organized crime while doing business in the New York-area construction industry…"
