New Jersey Commission Set to Vote to Allow OTBs

NEW JERSEY -- As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: ``The New Jersey Racing Commission has scheduled a vote to allow off-track betting in the state during its meeting on February 18 at Freehold Raceway harness track.

``If the commission gives its approval, then only the state's attorney general is left to give the final go-ahead for 15 OTBs in the state.

``The New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority granted approval for an agreement between Thoroughbred and Standardbred interests in August over how purse money would be divided…"
