New Jersey Casino Control Commission entering its new downsized form

28 March 2011

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- The New Jersey Casino Control Commission is reduced, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

The body was reconfigured to a reduced role after new gaming legislation was signed by Gov. Christie that established the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the report explained.

The New Jersey Casino Control Commission's staff has been reduced to around 65 and its budget has been slashed to $9.1 million, The Press of Atlantic City said.

Most of its previous regulatory power will be taken over by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the report noted.
