New Hampshire Lottery Proposed Game Approved

CONCORD, New Hampshire – As reported by the Telegraph Online: "State lottery players may soon be able to double their bets on scratch tickets following action by the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

"The 196-154 vote was closer than some observers had expected, given it had the backing of Gov. John Lynch, House Speaker Douglas Scamman, R-Stratham, and House Democratic Leader Jim Craig of Manchester.

"The state Lottery Commission estimates that bumping the maximum price for a scratch ticket from $10 to $20 would raise $4.8 million over the next two years.

"…Sales over the past decade from scratch-ticket games have risen from $116 million to $175 million…"
