New Guinea Official Wants Illegal Casino Investigation8 June 2005PAPAU NEW GUINEA – As reported by the Papau New Guinea Post Courier: "MP Dr Alan Marat has called on the Ombudsman Commission to investigate an alleged illegal casino operation in a Rabaul motel. "Dr Marat said money from the casino was being freely distributed by certain people to villagers in the area and viewed it as a possible pre-2007 election ploy. "…Dr Marat urged the Ombudsman Commission to also investigate the alleged involvement of the National Gaming Control Board on how the casino was permitted to operate in the first place.." |
