New Dance Show Follows Sexy Trend at Vegas Hotels28 April 2003LAS VEGAS – As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: ``In keeping with a new trend to add sex appeal to the tourist experience, the Canadian producer of three successful circus-like shows will stage a new one called 'Zumanity' that will blend dance with sensual situations when it premieres July 31 at New York-New York. ``While the performing arts company's other shows on the Strip — 'O' at Bellagio and 'Mystere' at The Mirage — stress circus-style trapeze acts, modern dance and music, Zumanity will focus on erotic dance 'with the sensual caress of the human voice and the insistent pulse of exotic dreams,' said show director Rene Richard Cyr. '''We will reveal another side of Cirque du Soleil,' said Cyr, who is from Quebec. ```Zumanity' is a show for lovers, would-be lovers and anyone whose imagination has ever been sparked by the idea of love.' ``Zumanity will be performed inside a new, custom-made 1,256-seat theater, which has velvet interior and "dim alcoves and intimate lighting (that will) allow for a setting in which fantasies can come true in a flash of searing passion," Cyr said. ``…The show, featuring 50 American and foreign dancers and musicians, will run about 90 minutes, with two performances per night, Tuesday through Saturday. ``…The show appears to be part of new move to bring more sex to Las Vegas hotel…" |
