New Casino Rock's VP Adjusts to Job7 February 2005IOWA – As reported by the Quad-City Times: "Jim Milne feels on top of the world every time he enters his new office at Jumer's Casino Rock Island. "Milne took over as vice president/general manager in January, and his office is located in the pilothouse of a former towboat at the complex. One of his newfound pleasures is gazing out over the Mississippi River and spotting eagles. "…Casino Rock Island, which opened in March 1992 at the foot of Rock Island's 18th Street, is planning a new facility by Interstate 280 and Illinois 92. Casino officials are still working out the details of how to run their operation and any changes in staffing at the new, larger complex, he said. The casino employs about 450 people. "…Before coming to Rock Island, Milne worked for Harrah's Entertainment Inc. for more than 25 years. Harrah's operates 28 casinos in a 13-state area, with four located in Iowa and Illinois…" |
