New casino might use old permit25 July 2007NEVADA -- As reported by the Reno Gazette Journal: "Developers of a $125 million GoldTown hotel-casino in north Douglas County might not need any public meetings before county officials to build their project, Douglas County officials said. "A special-use permit for a casino and hotel already had been granted for the site by the Nevada Supreme Court in an appeal more than a decade ago after plans for the project were turned down by the Douglas Board of Commissioners, said Mimi Moss, Douglas County's community development director. "...The proposed casino property is south of the Sunridge Golf Club, on the east side of U.S. 395. "...American Vantage Companies, which also is part of the development deal, announced earlier this month that its majority-owned subsidiary, Brownstone GoldTown, LLC, is finalizing pre-development and reviewing financing proposals from funding sources for the project..." |
