NETELLER to sponsor Italian Poker Tour

10 June 2013

(PRESS RELEASE) -- NETELLER, one of the world’s largest electronic payment organizations, is the new partner of the Italian Poker Tour in 2013. An agreement has been signed between Optimal Payments Plc, the company which operates NETELLER, and IPT Service, the joint venture between PokerStars and the Pagano Group.

Optimal Payments Plc has always offered the finest end-to-end payment solutions for online gaming operators and players, meeting the needs of both parties by increasing operators’ profits, reducing operating costs and the risk of fraud. Over time, the majority of gaming platforms have integrated their player account management systems with the services offered by Optimal Payments.

Lorenzo Pellegrino, Vice President of Optimal Payments, spoke positively of the agreement signed with IPT Service: “We are excited to sponsor a series of events like the IPT, and to provide our support. For many years, NETELLER has been offering a system of services able to meet the needs of operators and users in the gaming industry.”

This was also confirmed by the CEO of IPT Service, Luca Pagano: “This is a very important agreement, which brings together a valuable global company and the biggest Italian poker tour. We are honored that NETELLER has chosen IPT as its partner for Italy, as this demonstrates the company’s recognition of our brand’s values and the work we have done over the years. At the same time, we are sure that this collaboration will offer the players a great advantage for their money transactions, thanks to the excellent NETELLER payment account and the Net+ Prepaid MasterCard, as well various promotions which will be offered at each stage of the Italian Poker Tour.”

The agreement will commence with the first leg of the new IPT season, scheduled to take place in San Marino from June 8 to June 17, and will cover all five legs through to the tournament’s conclusion in December 2013.

In the meantime, two initiatives targeting the players who will take part in the Italian Poker Tour Main Event, have already been announced. The first is intended for those who already have a NETELLER Acount, or who plan to activate one for the tournament, and who will be wearing the NETELLER patch during the event; the highest place at the end of the tournament will be awarded a buy-in for the next IPT.

The second, however, will reward the unluckiest player in the Main Event, the so-called “bubble boy.” This season, the last player excluded from the prize zone won’t go home empty-handed, but will receive a check for €1,000 from NETELLER.
