Nemacolin Proposal Receives Positive Response3 May 2006PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Pennsylvania Union Standard: "People had a chance to comment on the proposed casino to be established at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa in Farmington during a public input hearing Tuesday, and all but one of the comments were positive. "Officials from Nemacolin Woodlands presented their plans for a $40 million casino that will house 500 slot machines before public comments were heard. The proposed casino would be located in the former Woodlands World building located on resort property. "…Elected officials, representatives of community groups and members of the general public addressed the members of the gaming control board, giving the casino their full support. "…Muriel J. Nuttal, executive director of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, said 80 percent of all business that belong to the Chamber of Commerce support a casino and said 87 percent of those who support it said they believe it will bring more economic development to the region…" |
