Nebraska Gambling Opponents Gain Ally

NEBRASKA – As reported by the Grand Island Independent: "U.S. Rep. Tom Osborne joined Nebraska's anti-gambling efforts in a series of press conferences across the state Monday.

"Osborne's wife, Nancy, spoke for her husband at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport Monday afternoon. She said she and her husband are most concerned about the effects of gambling on families and children.

"…Nancy Osborne joined representatives from Nebraska's anti-gambling group, Gambling With the Good Life, for the Grand Island stop. The group has sponsored 30-second television and radio ads featuring Tom Osborne, which will be aired this week through July 2.

"In the ad, Osborne urges citizens not to sign gambling petitions and to vote against the expanded gambling issue on the ballot in November. He also says families, small businesses and children will be hurt by allowing gambling in the state…"
