Nebraska City Officials Worried About Expanded Gambling6 October 2004NEBRASKA – As reported by the Omaha World-Herald: "La Vista officials expressed fear Tuesday that expanded gambling could kill their golden goose. "Through the years, revenue from the city's keno parlor has helped pay for more than $15 million in municipal buildings, including the city's community center, library and police station. "Mayor Harold Anderson said that if voters approve a package of four gambling initiatives on the Nov. 2 ballot, the resulting growth of new gambling could take a substantial bite out of his city's revenues.
