Navajo Nation expands liquor laws, casino floor service2 July 2013FLAGSTAFF, Arizona -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (NNGE) announced that Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly signed legislation today allowing alcohol to be taken onto the casino floor of its Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort, located along I-40, exit 219, just east of Flagstaff. The legislation was approved by the Navajo Nation Council this past Friday and forwarded to President Ben Shelly. It is specific to Arizona-based Navajo Nation casinos and is not applicable to its three existing New Mexico-based properties. This liquor statute amendment will allow Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort to remain competitive with other tribal casinos in the state that currently allow patrons to take and consume alcohol onto their casino floors. “The primary objective of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise continues to be jobs creation for the Navajo people as we become northern Arizona’s premier destination casino resort,” states Derrick Watchman, CEO of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise. Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort will continue to follow Navajo Nation and Arizona liquor handling and service laws in accordance to its liquor licensing.
