National Kidney Foundation hosts charity casino event8 February 2008WASHINGTON, DC -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The following release was issued today by the National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area: WHO: Casino Night attracts a diverse group of more than 600 guests from the business, medical and philanthropic communities in the Greater Washington, DC region. Special guests include Honorary Chairperson, from America's Next Top Model Sara Albert and Bennett Zier, broadcasting executive and philanthropist who serves as Chairperson for the event. Other special guests will be announced. WHAT: Casino Night is a signature event of the National Kidney Foundation. The evening will feature casino-style gaming, live music by The Jangling Reihnarts, silent auction, complimentary beer and wine, hourly spirit tastings and French inspired hors d'oeuvres and desserts. WHEN: Saturday, February 23, 2008 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. WHERE: La Maison Francaise 4101 Reservoir Road NW Washington, DC WHY: The Washington, DC area leads the nation in the prevalence of kidney disease, with more than 375,000 people affected, 4,800 on dialysis, and 1,700 waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant.
