Narragansett chief discusses casinos with Rhode Island governor

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island -- WPRI reports that Narragansett Indian Tribe Chief Sachem Matthew Thomas met with Governor Lincoln Chafee this week to discuss the future of casino gambling in Rhode Island.

The WPRI report states that the tribe's lawyer met with the Rhode Island Supreme Court Wednesday to try to push through an appeal to block the vote. A decision from the court is expected in the next week or two.
