Music is in the air for Rivers Casino Pittsburgh's 15th anniversary2 August 2024(PRESS RELEASE) -- Fifteen years ago, on 9 August 2009, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh opened its doors. Gaming legislation at that time allowed for only slots on the gaming floor. But within a year, table games, including poker, were approved in Pennsylvania. A lucky seven years later, sports betting was legalized and soon thereafter iGaming and more. For Pittsburgh it all started on the North Shore, where Rivers Casino’s ongoing reinvestment — exemplified by a recent $6.6 million ballroom expansion — has reinforced its commitment to Western Pennsylvania. Bill Henry Band Free Amphitheater Concert On Thursday, 8 August, join us for a soulful outdoor edition of our summer entertainment lineup. Bill Henry Band (BHB), one of Pittsburgh’s preeminent R&B acts, will perform a free community concert starting at 7 p.m. in Rivers Casino’s outdoor amphitheater. Guests can look forward to hearing the velvety smooth vocals as featured on hits from BHB’s 2019 album “Ride,” including the Indie Soul chart-topper “Slow Down,” as well as the group’s more recent R&B releases, like “What Love Can Do” and “The One.” BHB stylings effortlessly segue through R&B, soul, funk and hip-hop. Outdoor seating for Bill Henry Band’s Aug. 8 amphitheater performance is on a first-come, first-served basis, and outside concessions will be available for purchase. Upcoming Headliners in The Event Center Barenaked Ladies and Toad the Wet Sprocket – 27 September Best known for hits “If I Had $1,000,000,” “One Week,” “Pinch Me” and “The Big Bang Theory Theme,” Barenaked Ladies has sold 15 million records worldwide, amassed eight Juno awards, earned two Grammy nominations and been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Tickets for the popular ’90s and 2000s band’s show at The Event Center, which starts at 7 p.m. and features special guest Toad the Wet Sprocket, are available now, starting at $49. Billy Ocean – 2 November Best known for ’70s and ’80s soul anthems, including “Caribbean Queen (No More Love On the Run),” “Suddenly,” and “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car,” Grammy Award-winning pop and R&B superstar Billy Ocean is bringing his tour to Rivers. Tickets to see the international icon’s 7 p.m. show in The Event Center on Saturday, 2 November, are available now, beginning at $29. August Indoor Music – Drum Bar and BetRivers Sportsbook Visit Drum Bar and BetRivers Sportsbook in August to hear live DJs and bands every weekend. Bands are at Drum Bar on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 p.m. to midnight.
