Mt. Airy has bountiful holiday

PENNSYLVANIA -- As reported by the Times Tribune: "Revelers celebrated Thanksgiving week not only with feasts and shopping sprees, but at the slot machines of Mount Airy Casino Resort.

"After nearly a month of declining wagers, the Monroe County casino saw a resurgence last week as gamblers wagered $6.2 million more than in the week prior.

"More than $39.7 million was played into the 2,526 slot machines from Monday though Sunday, up 18 percent from $33.5 million last week.

"It was the first week that gambling action at the casino has not decreased since it opened in late October.

"...The largest daily increases came on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, following the scheduled opening of 188 rooms in the resort's new hotel..."
