Mt. Airy Casino Plan May Head to Vote

PARADISE VALLEY, Pennsylvania – As reported by the Pocono Record: "The land development plan for Mount Airy Lodge resort and casino could come up for a vote at Tuesday's meeting of the Paradise Township supervisors.

"The supervisors and representatives of the Mount Airy development team held a work session last week to iron out the remaining issues in plans for the 200-room hotel with an attached slots casino that Dunmore businessman Louis DeNaples wants to build off Woodland Road southeast of Mount Pocono.

"Al Magnotta, president of Ceco Associates, the Scranton engineering firm that is developing Mount Airy on DeNaples' behalf, asked the supervisors to consider giving the land plan preliminary approval this week so construction work on the project can begin as soon as possible.

"Though supervisors have not committed to anything, Mount Airy Lodge is expected to be on the agenda for Tuesday's meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Paradise Township Municipal Building, off Route 940 in Paradise Valley…"
